About Citizen Canine
After nearly 25 years of dog walking, pet ownership, and wishing I could spend more time in the company of animals, I have taken my lifelong affinity for creatures great and small and turned it into a job! I'm so lucky to be welcomed into my clients' homes and lives, and love being a part of your pets' well-being and daily routine.
A bored or lonely pet is never a happy pet, and that often turns into apathy, destructiveness, or other unwanted and unpleasant behaviour. Dogs have an inherent desire to explore and roam, and that means getting out of the backyard and shaking up that old routine. Life can get pretty crazy, and if you find yourself short on time, energy, or patience, that's where Citizen Canine can help. Let's work together to keep your dogs and cats healthy and content!
With three dogs of my own, I am well aware of the exercise demands of active pups! Through firm but kind instruction, dogs thrive, and I firmly believe in the power of The Walk. I want your pets to have the opportunity to gallivant around the neighbourhood, sniff, scratch, mark, and explore at their leisure.
A vocal advocate for animal rights and pet adoption, I have worked to rehabilitate many dogs over the years, including my own, and watched as abused and neglected animals transform into confident and happy pets. It's my joy and honour to do so, and I am pleased to help out wherever I can.
I am bonded and insured with Trisura Guarantee Insurance. I have First Aid, CPR-C, Sr. Resuscitation, and my Bronze Cross in swimming, and will be doing my re-certification for Pet First Aid on November 29, to ensure that my skills are always up-to-date. I always carry basic emergency staples and cell phone with me when out with your dogs, and I keep a fully-stocked first aid kit in my vehicle. Safety and security are first on the agenda, which is why my clients don't have to worry about their homes and their pets when they're away. I have a firm grasp of obedience commands (my dogs have trained me well, har har) and expect basic "politeness" from your dog... but don't worry, if he's having trouble, I am happy to guide him in the right direction!
For a free Meet and Greet in your home, send me an email or use the Contact Form. I look forward to meeting you and your four-legged family members!
